Translations of four short stories. Titles in Russian are 'Esli by znal narod'; 'Drova'; 'Veteran voiny'; 'Doroga mirai i druzhby'. 'Drova' is almost certainly the story 'A Load of Wood' and 'Veteran Voigny' id 'The Returned Soldier'. The other titles may be translated as 'If Only the People Knew' '[Esli by znal narod'] and 'The Road of Peace and Friendship' ['Doroga mirai i druzhby']; it is uncertain which of Hardy's stories these are.
