AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This collection of multicultural literature contains eight colourful and varied stories told by Croatians who emigrated to Australia in the period 1949-1996. The storytellers are from different walks of life and came from different regions at different times and with different expectations. Seven of the stories were told in interview with the author who wrote them. Each story has a separate account of life in Croatia and subsequently in Australia. The last story is that of the author.

Notes

  • Dedication: In memory of my mother (1933 - 1995) who lived in two Yugoslavias, Italy and Croatia without ever leaving the country of her birth.
