Author's note: In August, 1993, I had major surgery for the removal of a brain tumour. Friday, August, 13 was the day of the operation. The Friday prior to that I had been at St Aloysius College for Debating : this year, on the corresponding Friday night, ten years later, we were there again. That, and driving past Royal North Shore Hospital, gave life to these memories.
