'When lovely young Lisa Duncan came back from her big-city life to Duncan Island, the picturesque Maine island her family owned, she expected to find the same peace and tranquility she had always known there. Instead, almost at once, she found herself caught up in a tangled web of mystery surrounding strange newcomers to the island: the handsome young man whose charm attracted her, though his lifestyle disturbed her; the twins, who seemed like any other teenagers but for the cruelty in their eyes; and the sadistic madman who prowled the island. They had brought a menacing evil to Duncan Island.
