AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Helen Starbuck, daughter of a whaling captain, and Royal Armstead, son of a shipowner, fall in love in Honolulu. A villain twice endeavours to dishonour Helen - the last time aboard Helen's father's ship. Royal meantime has been severely assaulted and lost his memory, and his mother is adrift on a raft in Florio's whirlpool - believed dead for 7 years by all except Royal and his father (who is awaiting death from a tiger's jaws in a Singapore grotto). Further horrows include savage Siberians, mercenary pirates and vengeful lovers. (PB)
