This anthology of some 61 works in English by 8 writers of non-English speaking background (NESB) contains short, titled poems and prose. These works describe and illustrate basic emotions, love, feeling, experience, self perception, reflection, observation of others and the physical world.

This publication is the culmination of "Writers' Exchange", a literary project funded by the New South Wales Writers' Centre and the NSW Ministry for the Arts, encompassing 2 major events: the NESB Writers' Forum, held on the 29th of March 1998 and a subsequent series of workshops in creative writing.
