This allegorical fairy tale fantasy follows the life of a spoiled young princess who longs to explore the world outside her castle, but is prevented from leaving by her mother, who fears for her safety. Curiosity takes the princess through the Gate of Bronze beyond the castle, where she meets Disappointment, The Passions, Joy of Life, Motherhood, Fame, Young Loves, Romance and Sorrow, who teach her about life and growing up.
