Ian Austin’s most produced play, Down Came a Jumbuck is a satire on how 'Waltzing Matilda' might have been written if left to an 1880’s advertising agency.

Notes

  • Down Came a Jumbuck has been toured by the Royal Queensland Theatre Company and studied as part of the Queensland Education Deptartment's External English curriculum.
  • The play was republished by Thomas Nelson Australia in the volume Enter the Players.

Production Details

  • First performed 29 April 1983 at the Brisbane CAE for the opening of the 1983 Queensland Playwrights' Conference.
