AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Sheelah Marchmore returns to the home of her father after growing up in the house of her Aunt Fanny who used her as the basis for a character in her books. Disruption and confusion surround Sheelah as she and others try to define her place and to distinguish her from the girl in the stories. The novel is divided into three parts: Bill Trevor Sees Her; She Sees Herself and Dick Dumaresq Sees Her.
