When her 14-year-old daughter refuses to go on exchange to Australia as planned, 40-year-old Japanese woman Yoko goes in her place. In Alice Springs she, along with some American and Korean exchange students, learns about the history of Aboriginal-white relations in Australia, and considers the cultural differences of their own nations. They also learn about the Dreamtime.
