A man, a woman, and an old grandfather work a plot of land and make just enough money to keep from starving. One day, the man digs up a huge earthenware jar. He knows he can sell it and make good money. He takes it to his wife, who, in the process of cleaning it, drops a brush into the jar. At once, the jar fills with brushes. In fact, the jar never empties of brushes no matter how many are taken from it. The man and woman and the old grandfather might never have to starve again. They can sell brushes! But can the man and woman control their greed?Note: A Chinese folk tale retold. Illus. by Con Aslanis
