Appeared in the Freeman's Journal on 22 February, 1879 with the note: 'Suggested by Mr. Dalley's eloquent lecture on Spanish Cathedrals'. Earlier in the month Dalley had delivered a lecture in Sydney in aid of the St. Mary's Cathedral Building Fund, titled 'A Round About Paper on Spanish Cathedral Builders'. A lengthy report on Dalley's lecture had appeared in the Freeman's Journal on 8 February, 1879.
