  • 'Mrs. Charlotte Kendall, the poet's widow, in a letter to Alexander Sutherland (22 February 1883 MS.R) states that Bob was a little boy who came from the Vernon and was employed about the place at Camden Haven.' - Reed (1966), p. 181.
