Author's note: Tibrogargan is the largest and most seaward of the amazing volcanic mountains rising from the coastal plain north of Brisbane, Queensland. In aboriginal legend he is the father of the other ten, and one of his sons did something which so deeply offended him that he turned from his family to gaze out forever over the Pacific; the family will remain in this posture until the world is changed.
