BiographyHistory

Catherine Elliot-Mackay was a Sydney barmaid who was employed as a charwoman by Dymphna Cusak and Florence James while they were living in the Blue Mountains and writing the novel, Come in Spinner. Elliot-Mackay wrote the autobiography which was heavily edited by Cusak before publication in 1953. A film adaptation was released in 1976 with Helen Morse in the title role.
