BiographyHistory

Eugenius Demjanjuk at two years of age was taken to live in Yugoslavia where he received his primary and secondary education. During World War II he stayed for some time in Bulgaria and became interested in poetry. His compositions were written in Serbian, Bulgarian and Russian. In 1946 he enrolled in Philosophy at the University of Graz in Austria. After his emigration to Australia, he enrolled eventually in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree and began teaching in secondary schools. From 1964, he lectured in Russian Literature at Monash University.
