BiographyHistory

Beginning in the early 1970s Literary Heritage Day is an annual event celebrating the life and work of novelist Henry Handel Richardson. Heritage Day is held on 3 January each year marking the date of Richardson's birthday. The event takes place in the north-eastern Victorian town of Chiltern where Richardson's father, Dr Walter Richardson, was the doctor for fifteen months during the 1870s.
