BiographyHistory

Correspondence in the Fryer Library (Hayes Collection) indicates that Edith McKay wrote The House of Winston Blaker whilst living in Boonah, Queensland. It records her offering her manuscript of the work to Father Hayes after meeting him and learning of his interest in manuscripts. This manuscript is in the collection. The title page indicates that it was originally to be entitled 'The Man for Honest Dealing' and was changed to 'The Vicissitudes of Winston Blaker' before settling on the published title.
