BiographyHistory

Film reviewer and critic Margaret Pomeranz is widely known for her partnership with David Stratton on The Movie Show that they began in 1986 on SBS Television then moved to the ABC in 2004 with At The Movies. In 2011 they celebrated their 25 anniversary of broadcasting together.
Pomeranz has an Arts degree in German and Psychology from Macquarie University. She was a stringer for the Bulletin and for ABC Rural Radio. She spent some time in Europe, marrying filmmaker Hans Pomeranz on her return to Australia. She became involved with and enthusiastic about Australian filmmaking. She attended the Playwright's Studio at NIDA and began writing for television, radio and film. In 1980 she began work as a producer at SBS Television.
