'In Zeron: The Awakening, Vindal Vandakoff spins a tale of Zeron, a planet trapped in disaster. Its people suffer daily the evolutionary path of hundreds of millions of years: formation of magma, desert, tsunami, ice age, and death-sleep, and they grow old and die every day from the same sickness. Tortured aliens reveal a pending invasion for control of the powerful Etholisk fuel, which gives its possessors a universal trade monopoly. When the Heiress, daughter of the Controller of Zeron, awakens from a dream in her death-sleep; something no one on Zeron has ever done before; she is forced to perform a task that will liberate her planet. But the message is inscribed into a tablet, and she possesses only half, the other half held by Warrior monks. When her brother, Nosalj, is given the other half and learns the horrid task, he hides it from her. As the power of the tablet begins to take over his life, he is haunted by memories from his past.'

'THE LAST BLACK CROSS delves deep into a true account of how SS Nazi officers heap vicious brutality on a young German medical student and other male and female inmates until the Russian army liberates prisoners near the end of the conflict. The story reaches climaxes in two parts, with subtitles THE ASHES OF AUSCHWITZ portraying unbelievable atrocities in this camp notorious as an experimentation centre, with Jewish men, women and children the main targets; and the second part, JUDGE JURY and EXECUTIONER, enthralling readers as they follow how the student, now Doctor Peter Helms, extracts revenge thirty years later on SS officers responsible for the annihilation of thousands of innocent Jewish people using beatings, shootings, and gassing them to death before taking them to the dreaded crematoriums.'

1 1 y separately published work icon White Bird Black Bird Valdemar Robert Wake , Charleston : Valdemar Robert Wake , 2008 Z1581019 2008 single work novel 'The story of the native rights movement in Arctic Canada when southern consumers were pressing for more oil and gas. The story starts with a young journalist working with a Toronto weekly. He is learning his craft but he thinks that there must be more to journalism than covering parent teacher associations and council meetings. Warren leaves the weekly and starts working for the august Globe and Mail. Warren is already having trouble taking care of himself and develops a drink problem. He finds his work at the Globe unrewarding. He joins CBC Northern Service and is sent to Yellowknife to become the north's first locally based trained reporter. Warren arrives just at the native rights movement is getting organised, spurred on by the application to build a gas pipeline over treaty and native land along the Mackenzie River Valley. Warren becomes deeply involved in the clash cultures between the northern natives with their rich traditions of a hunting and trapping society and the energy starved south with its "shopping mall mentality" and belief in its own importance. White Bird Black Bird supplies the reader with an introduction to a unique northern society and the universal problem that is repeated around the world when an imported culture tries to impose its own needs and priorities on a native culture that has its own sense of order and purpose.' 1 y separately published work icon Spire City Derek Smith , Australia : Derek Smith , 2004 Z1244983 2004 single work novel science fiction fantasy 'Jack had only seen the true extent of the Spire twice in his life. When he was fourteen his tec father had died, his native born mother unable to tolerate tec society without him, had taken Jack and fled to her birth place outside the City. They had descended from the mid levels by wooden walkways and down crude rope ladders to the base where Jack had never been. Riding the cart they had crossed the native part of the city early in the dawn when there was little too see but rough stone and wood houses none more than two stories high. As they left the city the rising sun had lit the enormous burgundy Spire round which the houses congregated. Jack had seen the huge tec structures attached to the Spire connected by endless walkways. Yet, despite the number and size of the many buildings clinging to the Spire he could see that more than half its length still stood, unadorned in the morning light. It reached hundreds of unmeasured feet into the sky. Tec measurements of the Spire were a secret known only to the few in the highest echelons. The natives never mentioned the height of the Spire and most other details about it. All such detail was forbidden, shrouded in myth and folklore. The shadow of the immense metal Spire had fallen on them that day and it seemed to follow the cart for a long time on its journey to the country. He returned four years later when his mother died, suffocated by the prejudice of her brethren. Her son was tired of the constant mistreatment and had gladly left it behind. He stood once more in the shadow of the Spire, older, taller, strengthened by his years in the country. He wore only the simple clothes of a country native and a hat to ward off the sun. He carried only a knife and purse not much burdened with money...' (Source: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~clipstone/spire_city.htm) Sighted 24/02/2006
