BiographyHistory

Sam Carroll is a prolific television script-writer, working particularly (though not exclusively) in children's and young adults' television programs.

After working on the American-Australian co-production Flipper, Carroll came to the attention of Patricia Edgar at the Australian Children's Television Foundation (ACTF), who described her as 'a young woman who had not yet been spoiled by the demands of writing formulaic drama' and as writing with 'youth and vitality' (Bloodbath: A Memoir of Australian Television, Melbourne: Melbourne UP, 2006, p.401). For the ACTF, Carroll wrote Noah and Saskia, writing the character of Saskia while veteran ACTF script-writer Chris Anastassiades wrote Noah.

Carroll has been a key member of Jonathan M. Shiff Productions' core writing staff, contributing a high number of scripts to such Shiff productions as The Elephant Princess, H2O: Just Add Water, Lightning Point, Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji, Scooter: Secret Agent, and Wicked Science. She has also written scripts for animated television programs.

Carroll has also worked as a script editor on series including Scooter: Secret Agent and Mortified.
