Peter Newton spent several years in the R.A.F. and later worked as a scientific editor and academic. He has had many articles published on theatre and literature and has contributed to campus journals and magazines. Newton has studied at Macquarie University. From 1996-1998 he was editor of Word Jazz Down Under, a newsletter devoted to the intersections of jazz and poetry.
