BiographyHistory

Brothers-in-law William Moffat and Robert Yard both had graduated from Princeton and worked in the publishing industry. Their list was varied and included British art journal Burlington Mazagine, children's, psychlogy and philosophy books. Their Modern American Writers series started in 1918. The company was acquired by Dodd, Mead in 1924.
