'Gloria Andrews was hidden with her aunt in Ulverstone, Tasmaina after an attempt by the authorities to remove her from her mother. Later she was placed with her grandparents at their home on a farm in Lebrina where she stayed from around the age of six until the age of ten. During this time, Andrews only saw her mother every few months, which caused their relationship to suffer.'

Aboriginal Elder, Gloria Andrews has been a member of the Aboriginal Arts Advisory Committee which provides advice to the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board on projects with Aboriginal content.
