BiographyHistory

Small, Maynard and Company was founded by partners Herbert Small and Laurens Maynard in Boston in 1897. Fueled by the acquisition of a number of small publishing companies, the firm developed a strong literature list, supplemented by popular fiction. The company was declared bankrupt in 1927.
