BiographyHistory

Seymour Hicks was a celebrated English actor, music hall entertainer, theatre manager, playwright, screenwriter, author,and film and stage producer and director. In his early career he became known for writing, starring in and producing Edwardian musical comedies, often in partnership with his actress wife, Ellaline Terriss. Hicks' most famous acting role was that of Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. He visited Australia in the 1920s.
