BiographyHistory

Soltany-Zand spent almost four years in mandatory detention in Port Hedland and Villawood before being granted refugee status and permanent residency. Following his release from detention Soltany-Zand commenced a surveyor's course through a NSW TAFE college.

One of Soltany-Zand's poems, 'If One Person Dies', was read on World Refugee Day in June 2000 at rallies around Australia.
