Rae Luckie's main interest is helping people to preserve their life stories. She organised the 'Turning Memories into Memoirs' network of independent lifewriting teachers in Australia and was the first international member of the (American) Association of Personal Historians. She has been involved with the Kirrawee Neighbourhood Living Centres programme of lifewriting workshops and published some of their stories. Luckie has been teaching part-time at the University of Wollongong while completing a PhD in autobiographical writing at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean.
