1 The Silver Casket J. W. A. , 1885 single work short story romance
— Appears in: The Australian Journal , April vol. 20 no. 239 1885; (p. 424-427)
A boating accident on an English river introduces Dr Clayton to the beautiful heiress Clara Hawthorn and her cowardly fiancee. Her adopted father's death and her fiancee's inheritance of his money in view of their forthcoming marriage free Clara to marry the doctor - and on opening her legacy of the silver casket, justice is restored. Entertaining. Includes an interlude of 'body contact' as Clayton teaches the heiress to row. (PB)
