BiographyHistory

Linus Miller was an American citizen who participated in the 1838 uprising in the British colony of Upper Canada. He was subsequently tried in London and, after a period of incarceration on the notorious Portsmouth hulks, was transported to Van Diemen's Land in September 1840. He was granted a pardon in July 1845 and soon after returned to America where he settled into a law practice in New York.
