'Hector [Sandaloo] is the brother of Winnie Budbaria (q.v.) and for many years he was regarded as the spiritual leader of the community at Warmun in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. He was one of the pioneers of the language and cultural programme and has worked closely with linguists, especially Patrick McConvell (q.v.), in recording and analysing Kija language.'
