Tony Sheldon is an award-winning Australian actor/singer and writer, who is perhaps best known for his work in the theatre. The son and grandson of actors Toni Lamond and Stella Lamond, and as nephew of singer Helen Reddy, Sheldon first appeared before the public at age eight on the television variety show In Melbourne Tonight and also played a leading juvenile role in a Sydney production of Oliver.

After leaving Cranbrook School, where he had been a boarder, Sheldon appeared in the premiere production of A Hard God and subsequently appeared in numerous theatrical productions from the 1970s onwards. He was also later a foundation actor with the Hunter Valley Theatre Companyz). As a film and television actor he was first cast in an episode of Homicide in 1964) and returned to the series for another episode in 1975. His other roles during the 1970s included Rush (1974) and The Unisexers (1975). In 1985 he played Nugget Jones in the feature An Indecent Obsession and four years later was engaged to play the character Brian Carlton in the television series The Family Business. Since the early 1990s his other television roles have included G.P. (192) and Murder Call (1998).

In addition to his acting career Sheldon has worked as a writer in various forms, including television script writing. His credits include ten episodes for Sons and Daughters (1983), as well as episodes for Doctors and Nurses (1981) and Home and Awayg) (1988).
