BiographyHistory

Francis Cowley Burnand was a satirist, playwright, an editor of Punch and also wrote the libretto of Cox and Box, music by Sir Arthur Sullivan. Quite a few of Burnand's plays were produced or localised in the Australian colonies during the nineteenth century.
