A. Stanhope Gore lived at Hunter's Hill, Sydney, with her father, who was believed to have had an Irish background. She published a number of poems in the Australian newspaper in 1825. (Burke, Colleen & Woods, Vincent, The Turning Wave (2001) p. 280.)
