BiographyHistory

Mark Gliori grew up in Queensland and served in the Queensland Police Force for a number of years. He has been a performance poet, and has worked with The Naked Poets Comedy Troupe. He has published books of folk verse, and CD and audio recordings of his poetry.

Gliori received the Spirit of Matilda Poetry Award in 1995, to mark the centenary year of "Waltzing Matilda", and has won the Tamworth Country Music Festival Poetry Performance Award four times.

Gliori has been a poet-in-residence, has conducted poetry workshops, and has travelled extensively to remote areas of Australia, performing for both adults and children.
