BiographyHistory

One of twins, Lily MacLean migrated to South Australia with her family in 1926. She worked in a number of positions as a domestic help and later developed her talent for drawing by attending art classes with Mr Millward Grey in Tynte Street North Adelaide (later head master of the School of Arts, North Terrace). She worked for a time as a nanny on a sheep station at Burra, loving the country life, and later trained and worked as a nurse before marrying James F. MacLean.
