BiographyHistory

Kathleen Monypenny was educated in England from an early age, returning to Australia as a young woman. She spent most of her working life as a librarian in the Mitchell Library, Sydney, although she returned to England during World War II to help care for refugee children.

  • Kathleen Monypenny also published From Whaling Station to Sheep Run : Beginnings in New Zealand (1934), and wrote words for the song Noon (music by Dulcie Holland, 1936). With Dora Wilcox she produced a series of Australian Rhyme Sheets.
