BiographyHistory

Tạ Bình Duy is a playwright, director, actor, and dancer. He was born and educated in Vietnam, where he trained in acting and mime, and has lived in Australia since 1988, when he sought political asylum whilst attending the Interplay Festival, held in Sydney. Since then he has worked with a number of theatre companies and other groups, including Citymoon Theatre (The Vietnamese Australian Theatre Company), which he founded in 1996 with Bruce Keller (q. v.), and his acclaimed children's play 'The Boy and the Bamboo Flute' has been performed with much success, both in Australia and overseas. He holds a Masters Degree in Creative Arts in Theatre from Wollongong University (2001), and has taught at both Wollongong University and The University of Western Sydney.
