This feature film is based on the death of Alabama woman Tina Watson who, with her husband Gabe Watson, died on a honeymoon during a Great Barrier Reef diving trip in 2003.

Life seems idyllic for Marisa until her son is suddenly diagnosed with leukaemia following a soccer match. After trying to contact her husband David, who is interstate at a conference, she becomes aware that he has been involved in an affair - one of many. The only possibility of a cure is if David has had a child from one of his many flings that is a bone-marrow match, so Marisa tracks down the women he might have had affairs with to see if any might have had his child. Meanwhile, Jack befriends Finn, a young Irish boy in the next bed who has been travelling the world with his father, Connor. Initial disdain turns to mutual respect as both Marisa and Connor find their own ways to deal with their respective sons' illnesses.

'Tanya Rammus (Rachel Griffiths) moves back to Melbourne with her daughter Amy (Alana De Roma) after a scrape with child welfare workers in the bush. Amy, aged eight, has become deaf and dumb since witnessing the death of her rock star father Will (Nick Barker) on stage, three years earlier. Tanya refuses to send her to a school for kids with disabilities, because her condition isn’t physical. In Melbourne, they rent a house in a down-at-heel street that’s full of misfits and oddballs: an old woman who hoses the footpath continuously (Mary Ward), a kid who collects hubcaps (Jeremy Trigatti), and an angry musician called Robert (Ben Mendelsohn). His guitar playing attracts Amy, but Tanya refuses to believe Robert when he tells her that Amy can hear singing, and sing herself. After Tanya hears Amy sing, she sends her to counselling with a child psychologist (Frank Gallacher). Tanya gets a job as a waitress and she warms to Robert. Things are looking up, until Amy runs away from an encounter with a drunken neighbour (William Zappa). She wanders alone in the city, as neighbours and police begin a massive (and musical) search.'

Based on an incident in the western suburbs of Sydney in 1968, in which ex-criminal Wally Melish was mistakenly believed to be holding his girlfriend hostage: the siege ended with NSW Commissioner of Police Norm Allen acting as witness to the wedding of Melish and his 'hostage'.

Australian billionaire Sly Morgan is invited to join the Stark Conspiracy, a group of the world's richest people, who plan to save themselves from the Earth's impending environmental doom. Colin Dobson, or CD to his friends, tries to impress beautiful activist Rachel by joining her and a group of hippies on a mission to foil Stark's evil plan of environmental vandalism.

'When 18-year-old Danny Clark asks the beautiful Joanna Johnson out on a date, he tells her he owns a Jaguar car, a car he certainly doesn't have, and a car he feels he now must buy to 'prove he isn't lying'. But Danny is ripped-off by an unscrupulous used-car salesman, and when normal avenues of recourse fail, Danny and his mates take revenge on the car yard.'

'Rikky Menzies (Nina Landis) and Pete Menzies (Stephen Kearney) are sister and brother. Rikky is an out-of-work geologist, and aspiring singer (vocals by Wendy Matthews). Pete is a misfit who dreams up weird inventions. Pursued by police sergeant Whitstead (Bill Hunter), on whom Pete has been playing practical jokes, they flee to the mining town of Mount Isa.'

When shy mechanical genius Malcolm is sacked from the Metropolitan Transit Authority for building his own tram during work hours, he takes in boarders: ex-con Frank and Frank's girlfriend Judith.
