The Eye, an intelligence agent, shadows the same woman, Joanna Eris (who happens to be a serial killer of men), all over the U.S. for more than ten years, without her ever knowing. The Eye, having been through a messy divorce, hallucinates constantly that his lost daughter is with him, and comes to see Eris as a daughter-substitute–or at least a lost child–leading him to act as her guardian angel.

Marc Behm's novel had previously served as the inspiration for 1983 French film Deadly Circuit (Mortelle Randonnée), directed by Claude Miller.

Paradise Road is based on the true stories of hundreds of English, Australian, and American women imprisoned in Sumatra by the Japanese as the latter swept through South-east Asia in 1942.

The narrative begins with Japanese fighter planes sinking the ship on which the women are attempting to flee Singapore. The captured prisoners face extreme cruelty and hardship, and are forced to seek any means for survival. Two of the women, Adrienne Partier and Margaret Drummond, conceive the idea of forming a choir. Both are both trained musicians, and Margaret has memorised many scores. She writes them down in children's notebooks, and dozens of women, in constant danger of extreme punishment or even execution, conspire to practice surreptitiously. When the choir performs its first number, 'Largo' from Dvorak's New World Symphony, the voices transform the dense tropical air with sweet, haunting strains and the guards, who have come to break up the illegal gathering, sit and listen with awe.

An American/Australian co-production, this series was a revival of the original 1964 - 1967 series Flipper.

The show's production is sharply divided between seasons one and two on one side and seasons three and four on the other.

Seasons one and two aired in first-run syndication in the US, as American television networks turned away from funding comparatively expensive one-hour dramas in the late 1980s and 1990s. These two seasons were made in Australia and took advantage of local directors and other crew, but, notably, the script-writers were exclusively American (as far as they have been traced).

For seasons three and four, Flipper left first-run syndication and aired in the US on the new network PAX TV (now Ion Television). These two seasons were also made in Australia and directed by Australians, but for the first time, they also used Australian script-writers: of the writers who have been traced for seasons three and four, all of the season three writers and the majority of the season four writers are Australian.

The year is 1999. On the road to Paris and trapped in a traffic jam as the inhabitants of major cities flee the news of an out-of-control nuclear satellite, a disillusioned woman, Claire Tourneur, encounters Trevor McPhee, a mysterious stranger who is on a dangerous secret mission for his scientist father. When he suddenly disappears, Claire embarks on an obsessive search for him that takes her to the far corners of the earth.

The film is part mystery, part science-fiction. The device that the stranger carries is at first a mysterious object, and its strong attraction to various government agencies and bounty hunters is unexplained. When the disaster feared from the beginning does strike the planet, as an out-of-control nuclear satellite is shot down in orbit, the device becomes a comfort and an addiction for humanity, stripped as they are of their usual electronic conveniences after the satellite's destruction.

A doctor in a deep-sleep clinic is experimenting on and killing his patients--and only one nurse seems to notice or to care.

'Hurricane Billy Smith, a black Texan oil rigger, comes to the Gold Coast to tell his sister, Sally Mae, that their mother has died and to take Sally Mae back to the States - but she has disappeared. His search for her leads him into adventures involving an Australian Mafia-style drug and prostitution ring before he finally learns the truth about her.'
