BiographyHistory

Charles Birch was, for many years, Challis Professor of Biology at the University of Sydney. He also had visiting professorships in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and in Minnesota and California in the US. Birch was an advocate for social justice. He was awarded the 1990 Templeton Prize for science and religion for his work with the World Council of Churches.
