BiographyHistory

Born in Australia to emigrant parents, Mohen described himself as a 'compulsive activist'. At some stage he spent some time in Europe, discovering his roots and finding that this kindled 'a long smouldering spark' in him, releasing him from 'the dumb spirit which earlier in my life had fed on the twin parasites of timidity and procrastination' (Omega 'Special', 'Autobiographical', p. 7).

Mohen apparently suffered pain and illness, as Cas Manion expresses in the editorial preface to Omega 'Special' (p. 4): 'The vision he has of life is peculiarly his own, especially so, since what he has seen is through eyes that have been pain-filled, and experienced in the loneliness of the man who by his illness is compelled to be different.'
