BiographyHistory

Simmone Howell's short fiction has been published in periodicals and anthologies in Australia and overseas. Her short story 'The Mean Reds' received a special commendation in the 2001 Sisters in Crime Australia's Scarlet Stiletto Awards. She was a co-founder of Vandal Press.

2012 recipient Creative Industries Career Fund to undertake a ten-day residency at the Ionian Centre for Arts and Culture (ICAC), in Ithaca, Greece. During the residency Simone will be working on a contemporary young adult novel inspired and informed by stories in The Odyssey.
2010 Literature Board Grants Grants for Developing Writers $25,000 for young adult literature writing.
