BiographyHistory

The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) is a statutory body established in 1972 by the state government to create a South Australian film and television industry.

The role of the SAFC changed substantially in 1994; it ceased production to focus instead on promoting, stimulating, and developing the South Australian film industry.

The SAFC's core activities include screen practitioner development and support; script and project development; production investment funding, cash flow loans, and incentives; operation of production and post-production facilities; and marketing South Australia (both the state itself as a viable shooting location and the expertise of South Australian facilities and crew) to domestic and international markets.

The SAFC is governed by a Board of Directors, which is appointed by the South Australian State Government and reports to the Minister for the Arts.
