BiographyHistory

Susan Nugent Wood was born in Tasmania, the daughter of Samuel and Susan Lapham. She lived for a number of years in Victoria, where she married John Nugent Wood in 1854. In 1861 they moved to the Otago region of New Zealand. She was the sister of Henry Lapham (q.v.) Her publications include Woman's Work in Tasmania (1862), written under the pseudonym of 'A Daughter of the Soil.'
