BiographyHistory

French publisher, formed in 1992 from the merger of Swiss company Payot (founded 1900) and French company Rivages (founded 1984). Payot & Rivages was later acquired by Actes Sud (2013).

The company maintains the imprints Rivages and Payot as separate identities for the publication of some works, most notably the crime novels and thrillers published under the Rivages noir series.
