BiographyHistory

Mara Kalmane gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Baltic languages from the Latvian State University, Riga. With some acquired knowledge of English, Russian, German and Polish, she has worked as a language teacher in high schools. Her writing has been read on radio and at gatherings of the Australian Latvian Writers' Association. Kalmane has also contributed poetry to several anthologies.
