BiographyHistory

Mireille Saba Redford is a bilingual poet, journalist and writer. After completing an Advanced Certificate in Biomedical Technician, at a Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institution, Redford worked as a science attendant and a teachers' aide.

Redford worked as Managing Editor of Al-Bairak newspaper (1993-1995), and most recently she has been News Editor for the Arabic Australian Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation and Managing Editor of Al Farasha magazine. She has also translated an anthology of contemporary Australian poetry into Arabic, and her short story, 'The Painting is Completed', was awarded first prize by the Lebanese Social and Cultural Association in Australia.

She holds a PhD with a focus on the science of botanical terminology; formerly based in Sydney, in 2018, she was based in Lebanon where she taught at both universities and parochial schools.
