BiographyHistory

Kerry Argent grew up in various country towns and moved to Adelaide when she was fifteen. After studying commercial art between 1978 and 1979, she moved into design and illustration and a Batchelor of Design from the South Australian School of Design. Her first book, One Woolly Wombat, was completed for her Bachelor of Design degree in 1981.

Argent then travelled through Italy and the United Kingdom during 1983-1984. On her return she worked as illustrator and in-house designer and Art Director of Omnibus Books for over ten years. She subsequently worked full-time as an illustrator of her own books. Animal welfare, conservation, and environmental issues are common themes in her work.
