'This is a collection of selections from the finest of Timoshenko Aslanides’ poetry. In a lifetime dedicated to writing and publishing Australian poetry, Timoshenko Aslanides has produced fifteen books of poems.

'In celebrating Australia’s people, landscape and history, Aslanides has also defined Australian mythologies in national culture. These are the poems by which he will be best remembered. They are also poems that will be read with pleasure by anyone wishing to enjoy evocations of the people and places in Australia’s past, appreciate the immediacy of a poet’s life and share his optimism and aspirations for the country’s future.'

1 y separately published work icon Letterature : Verse Letters from Australian Women Timoshenko Aslanides , Ormond : Hybrid , 2014 18720762 2014 selected work poetry prose diary correspondence

'Letterature consists of narrative poems, mainly in the form of verse letters to spouses, relatives, friends or colleagues; some are diary entries. All are imagined to have been written by exceptional and historical Australian women. This collection is modelled on Ovid's Heroides, verse letters from women in Greek and Roman mythology. This book is very probably the first collection of verse letters of women written by a male poet in personas of women since Ovid's ground-breaking anthology, produced in the flowering of Latin poetry in the Age of Augustus.' (Publication summary)

1 y separately published work icon Temperament : Twenty Four Love Poems, One in Each Key Timoshenko Aslanides , Ormond : Hybrid , 2013 6483700 2013 selected work poetry

'In place of the distinctive and audible key characteristics of historical well-tempered tunings of the keyboard, I've applied my experience of love to each of the twenty-four keys in twenty-four poems. The key sequence follows that of the key sequence common to both books of J.S. Bach's 48. Each poem consists of six quatrains of loosely-sprung elegiac couplets.' (Publication summary)

1 1 y separately published work icon Stop Words Timoshenko Aslanides , Melbourne : Hybrid , 2011 Z1810335 2011 selected work poetry

'"Stop words are those words which are so common that they are useless to index or use in search engines or other search indexes," says Wikipedia.

Regardless, the poet deftly uses these useful words to make meaning of our lives. Each poem uses a stop word as a point of poetic departure, around which he sews a context, impressionistically, sketchily, pencilling a mood, a feeling, tension between the sexes. Relationships are at the heart of his poems, love, death, time, the possible, the impossible, the probable, the emotive, in short sensibilities.' (Publisher's website)
